The Canaries are known for having „the world’s best climate“, which means that also during summer the heat is moderate. For they are the islands of eternal spring. That is a little exaggerated, because also in summer we have temperatures around 30 degrees centigrade. But since there is always a soft trade wind blowing over the islands, temperatures seldom get higher. That is a real gift for people who have been damaged by heat. Further, we hardly have problems with mosquitos and other nuisances. Few people know this and therefore, the islands are relatively free from the usual tourist streams. Only insiders use this time between May and August to spend their holidays here. We from Casa Medusa love the lukewarm nights. It is the time for BBQ-, tapas-, Sangria- and dance evenings.
The stars seem to be within one’s grasp and during many summer nights we can go swimming, sometimes even with a shining sea. In spring this is hardly possible, unless one is really toughened up, because the water is only 18 degrees and without a pullover it is too cold outside. In summer, however, watertemperatures of 22/23 degrees are simply marvellous and we have enjoyed quite some nightly picknicks at the sea.
